Whether you found me by happenstance, or from knowing me personally - this first Blog will dive into what this is, how I got here, and what my mission is.

GoodLooks is a collective of media and accessories stemmed from the mind and through the eyes of myself, TJ. The name in itself is more than just a catchy, bygone slang term. I want to highlight car culture from every "genre" - if that be JDM, Drift, Euro, Stance, Kaido Racer, Track, etc., it doesn't matter.

My time spent in the car community, specifically in the PNW of the USA has been lengthy. I attended my first event at Golden Gardens Park in 2013 at an event hosted by StanceWars. My Passion for Automobile has been life long. Passed down from both of my parents being into Classic American Muscle and Air Cooled VW. As a youth who spent too much time online, I learned what "Stance" and "JDM" was and knew I wanted more of it. I was introduced by media blogs of the time such as SpeedHunters, but being a young teenager without a driver's license, let alone a car, I wanted to get involved in this Culture to some degree that wasn't just being a spectator. I found out about that Golden Gardens Meet, convinced my Mom to drive me to the park that day, and by borrowing her DSLR, I got to work.

As time progressed in the mid-2010s, I obtained my license and went through a few cars of my own. I met many people through Forum Websites and Facebook Groups. Attending more meets and events, making friends and connections, I eventually had the opportunities to shoot for a few friend's "start up media pages" and other larger groups such as Third World Society, DODOlogic, and StanceWars for a majority of the time. I was deep into my passion by 2018 when my internship turned employment at StanceWars began. However, over all of these years, I've always wanted to start my own movement. This idea was loosely executed a couple times under names such as "Zoku Spirit" and "Kazoku". The Japanese suffix of "Zoku" meaning family/tribe/team, I've always had my sights on togetherness and overall enjoyment within the car community. I never wanted to be a niche clique, a private team or club, just a collective and public reminder of what good fundamentals are. I feel I've focused too much energy into other's companies and visions that I eventually lost sight of my own. Albeit I am very grateful for the opportunities and experiences given to me over the years by my cohorts, colleagues, and friends. Something's always been missing however, my own creativity.

This is what I want GoodLooks to be: a creative outlet for myself. This will be a ground-up journey for me that will also showcase the creativity and art of others through their vehicles, which I feel will also inspire others. One of the most important things to me has always been;

GoodLooks will not be some cash-grab brand, nothing that will follow quickly-fading trends, just a burning passion of automobile and good times. I hope to remind and inspire others to view this hobby in the same way, I feel in recent years that a lot of enthusiasts have lost sight of this. It has been easy to notice, given my time and experience within certain sub-cultures of the overall community. I feel we have lost the art form of self expression through focusing too much on clout or clicks on the internet. Cars has always been escape from the mundane for me, a gateway to be myself and meet like-minded people. Car culture means so much to me, and I want to do the best I can to pay that forward to the next generation.

This basically sums up my history and my mission statement without rambling on about irrelevant things. Over time, as I and GoodLooks grow, more will be said with more to view. Event coverage will begin in November of this year (2025) as I attend Panic GP in California, with many more things to happen shortly after. I won't spoil all of it at once! Support can be given by simply reading this far into my first blog post, by following along my journey through social media, and by purchasing some merchandise. At the time of writing this blog, there isn't much live on the store - but there are many ideas in the works that will see the light of day eventually. Orders will be fulfilled on a weekly basis, and I hope to stay on schedule for a few different drops a year with an even more-consistent flow of Good Content!
